Shortly after moving a friend showed me a big board game called Flames of War. Unfortunately progress on the Hueys stalled and about a year ago I packed them up as I was moving to a new place.

#1 35 scale huey helicopter series

Those were the days… this one would certainly blow you and your mates away in terms of modelling street-cred, I mean look at it… big, brash, well detailed, fun to play with as the rotors work and you can get ‘stuff’ inside, come on, you just couldn’t beat it! It’s good to see this one back having been originally released many years ago under the Monogram brand. Approximately 7,000 UH-1 aircraft saw service in Vietnam.ĭon’t forget that you have a good walkaround set of photos covering the internal and external details of the Huey in your SMN Photo Reference Library here on this page. In September 1962, the designation was changed to UH-1, but “Huey” remained in common use. The original designation of HU-1 led to the helicopter’s nickname of Huey. The first combat operation of the UH-1 was in the service of the U.S. Ordered into production in March 1960, the UH-1 was the first turbine-powered helicopter to enter production for the United States military, and more than 16,000 have been produced worldwide.

The helicopter was developed by Bell Helicopter to meet the United States Army’s requirement for a medical evacuation and utility helicopter in 1952, and it first flew on 20 October 1956. The Bell UH-1 Iroquois (unofficially Huey) is a military helicopter powered by a single turbo shaft engine, with two-bladed main and tail rotors. #1 35 scale huey helicopter how to
I decided to start filming him and create some kind of documentation of how to go about building and flying a proper rc scale helicopter. When I asked him about his personal videos, he said he had none. Not too long after I started flying scale models, I met Rick on the field and was so impressed with his turbine models. A few years ago, I discovered the remote controlled helicopter's world and can't get it out of my system, nor would I want to. I have been in love with flying ever since a child.
